After retiring from professional rugby, Dr du Plessis pursued a career in medicine, specialising in orthopaedic surgery. He completed his medical training and advanced surgical fellowships at prestigious institutions, where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of knee injuries and treatments. Dr du Plessis is renowned for his expertise in knee surgery, particularly in treating sports injuries and arthritis. His extensive experience includes knee arthroscopy, knee replacement surgery and sport medicine.
